The Coconut Kitchen started with a catering trailer in the seaside town of Abersoch, North Wales in 2006 with Head Chef Preechaya’s passion to give people good quality Thai food. Following the success of the food trailer, in 2007 they moved to a 40-seater restaurant. The restaurant proved so popular the tourist’s wanted to take the food back to their respective hometowns across England and Wales. So in 2013 they launched their own sauces and curry pastes with the aim of the products being of such a high quality that their customers could re-create their restaurant dishes at home. Success came quickly. In 2 short years The Coconut Kitchen has won 5 awards at Great Taste, including a Top 50. Coupled with that the restaurant was also voted “Best Oriental Establishment in Wales” at the Food Award Wales in 2015 and 2016!
